The smartwatch also supports wireless charging and has a capacity of 430mAh Li-Ion. The Oppo watch comes in various colors. In this article, we would be discussing thoroughly on smartwatches and do an Oppo watch review.
Factors to Consider Before Choosing a Smart Watch
There are numerous things to put into consideration before choosing a smartwatch. It is very risky to purchase any product of your choice without putting certain measures into consideration. If you do so, you would be wasting resources at the end of the day and might not get the right product you need. It is therefore expedient that you consider many factors to get the right product you are looking for. However, for the sake of this article, we would limit our scope to these factors.
Compatibility
How compatible is your smartwatch to your phone? Many times, we advise that you go for the smartwatch that is compatible with your phone. For instance, an apple smartwatch will not readily pair with a Wear OS smartwatch.
However, some smartwatches readily pair with phones that supposedly are not compatible. You should be on the lookout for the one that works for you. We advise that you get a smartwatch that carries the same brand name as your phone. We would talk more about this in the next point.
Brand
Choice of a brand is relative to the individual making the purchase. We advise that you get a brand that corresponds with the brand of your phone. Asides from compatibility issues, this helps your smartwatch work better and gives you a wonderful experience while using it. However, other notable brands connect well with android phones. They are:
- Xiaomi
- Oppo
- Realme
- Garmin
- Huawei
Budget
Luxury or necessity? What is your budget? You should first and foremost know the reason why you want that smartwatch. Is it for luxury or necessity? This would guide you on your budget and save you from impulse spending. There are cheap smartwatches to buy and then there are budget smartwatches to buy. Just know the one that works for you.
Features
Why are you getting a smartwatch? What functions do you need the smartwatch to perform? These are two vital questions we recommend that you ask yourself before purchasing a smartwatch. Getting a smartwatch that cannot perform any function that you want it to is a total turn-off and a waste of resources. When getting a smartwatch, you should either opt for the Chinese best smartwatches for men or the Chinese best smartwatches for women as the case may be. These smartwatches have numerous features ranging from receiving phone calls to health and sporting reminders.
Design
This refers to the look and feel of the smartwatch. Since a smart watch’s specifications go beyond how it looks, a good number of people still pay very good attention to the way their smartwatches look. If you are someone that cares so much about the outward appearance of your smartwatch, you should put this into consideration. You should be on the lookout for a very sleek and classy smartwatch while paying attention to the other features of your smartwatch.
Also, the screen type of your smartwatch falls into this category. There are two major screen types
- LCD: This is the black and white display screen type. Smartwatches of this category are usually not colorful. However, they have a very good battery life because the screen type consumes less battery.
- AMOLED/ OLED: This is a very colorful screen type as opposed to the LCD screen type. Smartwatches with this type of screen usually come off colorful and look very attractive. However, this screen type needs a lot of power to run which turns out in affecting the battery life of the smartwatch.
Battery Life
This is a problem that almost everyone has faced at one point in time. The battery life is the heartbeat of any gadget. Just like how a person without a good heart cannot function properly. A gadget that does not have a good battery life will not function properly. This is detrimental to the owner of the gadget. In getting your smartwatch, we advise that you pay attention to the battery type and capacity of the smartwatch.
Know how long your smartwatch battery can last on standby mode and how long it can also last when in use. The average standby time of a good battery should be between. 30-35 days while the average working time of a good smartwatch battery should be 14 days.
NB: Usually, smartwatches that have short battery life would have more features on them than a battery life that lasts longer.
Warranty
A warranty is a written guarantee, issued to the buyer by the manufacturer, promising to 4repair or replace the product (as the case may be) within a specific period. Most warranties usually run between 6-12 months after purchase.
The warranty of a product varies for the manufacturer or the company. Some warranties do not cover certain damages, for example, touch screen issues while some do.
This should guide you when choosing a smartwatch.

Features and Benefits
Design and display
The Oppo Watch resembles an Apple Watch in appearance. It has a rectangular case to match Apple’s sporty bands, and even the rubber watch strap resembles one of Apple’s sporty bands.
If you look closely, though, you’ll notice that this isn’t an Apple Watch. The Oppo Watch isn’t poorly made or built, but when compared to Apple’s smartwatch, there are some significant variations in construction.
The Oppo Watch is available in two sizes: 41mm and 46mm, both with an aluminum case. Some of the extra style flourishes that make the 46mm model more appealing are missing from the 41mm model. Instead of the rigid screen used on the smaller Watch, the larger Oppo uses ceramic in the back of the case and has a dual-curved display. The smaller Oppo Watch is slightly heavier than the larger model, but it is also 10 grams lighter at 30 grams.
A 1.6-inch, 320 x 360 resolution AMOLED screen is front and center, offering clear, sharp surroundings and decent visibility in bright light and when we took it for a swim. It’s a good-looking computer, and while you don’t get as much screen real estate or resolution, it’s still a good smartwatch display. Two physical buttons sit almost flat with the hand, joining the touchscreen display. The bottom button can be set to open a variety of applications, but it defaults to Oppo’s workout app.
The band, which can be removed by pressing two buttons on the back of the case, is worth mentioning. It’s been incredibly easy to wear throughout the day, in bed, and while exercising. However, we did have some problems with the clasp on occasion, which resulted in the band falling off once or twice in bed.
Water-resistance is rated at 3ATM for the entire watch kit. Oppo explained that it is safe to swim and shower in, but that it is a lower rating than other competitors, with 5ATM now being the standard.
Battery life
The battery life of the Oppo Watch is very strong. This is irrespective of the sizes. The smaller size (41mm) has a battery capacity of 300mAh that can last up to 24 hours. The bigger size (46mm) on the other hand, has a battery capacity of 430mAh that can last up to 30 to 36 hours with LTE.
The unique feature the Oppo smartwatch can power itself back up when the battery hits 0%. The Oppo smartwatch uses VOOC flash charging technology to recharge its power. This charging technology can get the power up to 30% within 15 minutes of charging and takes less an 2 hours, approximately 75 minutes to get the smartwatch fully charged. This is only peculiar to the 41mm oppo smartwatch. The 46mm oppo smartwatch takes just 15 minutes to charge up to 46%.
Besides, the Oppo smartwatch battery has a power-saving mode that is designed to give an extra 21 days on standby mode. The power-saving mode is not restricted when compared to other power-saving modes. It still lets you measure your heart rates, step counts, and check notifications.
On the smart mode, it gives a good battery performance of 24 days.
Performance & Software
Aside from the lack of LTE, the Oppo Watch has all the bells and whistles you’d expect from a modern Wear OS smartwatch. It doesn’t have the most up-to-date Snapdragon 4100 chipset, but Oppo did an excellent job fine-tuning performance, which is fantastic. There were no stutters or frame drops that I noticed.
The 1GB of RAM contributes significantly to the smooth fluidity of the system. The included storage is more than adequate for all of the software and music you’ll need.
In certain parts of the world, the watch supports GPS and NFC, much like most modern Wear, OS watches. An accelerometer and a gyroscope are among the additional sensors, but there is no altimeter.
Connectivity & Compatibility
The Oppo smartwatch is compatible with all operating system (OS) types. The watch is compatible with Apple phones as well as phones that use-wear OS as their operating system.
Fitness
Although its architecture isn’t particularly sporty, it does include all of the necessary sensors to make it an excellent workout companion. If you choose, Oppo has a few of its software to use instead.
You’ll also need to download the HeyTap Health phone app if you don’t want to use those applications and want to check data away from the watch. You can also log your runs and walks from here, and it’s a tidy interface that resembles Samsung’s Health app. Just a little less frantic.
Warranty
The Oppo smartwatch ( both 41mm and 46mm) has a warranty period of a year. You can return your smartwatch for repair if it develops any faults along the line. Also, you are permitted to return the product within 14 days if you are not satisfied with the performance and functions of the product.
